Eligible applicants are U.S. Citizens or permanent residents. Applicants should have graduated in fall 2025 or spring 2026 from a four-year college or university and seek additional research experience before applying to graduate school for a doctoral degree or medical school.

If interested in post-baccalaureate positions elsewhere on the University of Iowa campus, ICARE would encourage you to review available research internship positions.

Vaughn, Hayley.jpeg

"As a previous participant of a post-bac research program at University of Iowa, I can say the experience allowed me to obtain necessary research experience that graduate programs desire. Also, it allowed me to be immersed with graduate students, faculty members, and courses - so that when I started grad school, I had a relatively lighter class load and faculty I still keep in contact with regularly."
